Hey everyone,
I ran into some "technical difficulties" while trying to re-do this blog. So now you can view my ALL NEW blog design over at its new site HERE. All of the same posts are there, plus some new pages about my Etsy shop, handmade giveaways, and more. I couldn't figure out how to switch my followers over, so if you know how to do that, please let me know! Or you can just go over and start following it instead of this one ( which I will eventually delete) so you can get my updates! Thanks so much for being such a great blog audience! I can't believe I got over 200 followers in only a few months!!

Changes are Coming!

I am so excited about some new changes that will be coming to this blog in the next few weeks! First of all, I am going to do a total blog- revamp to make it look more professional. Then I will be expanding the content to include more than just handmade items. I hope to add more recipes, natural beauty tips and hints ( and recipes for making your own natural skincare for little cost!) and possible some tutorials. If you have any ideas of some other things you might like to see me post about, let me know! I will consider all requests. =)

Gift Baskets?

Lately I've trying to come up with some new ideas for my Etsy shop. I sell a lot of "small" things, but was tossing around the idea of putting together some themed gift "baskets" for purchase. Some ideas include a kitchen theme, with fruit magnets, possibly some coasters made out of designer fabric, a pair of food themed earrings or ring, etc. I'm also thinking about themes like flowers, bakery, girls night out, etc.
I thought they would be a neat gift idea, where everything was together and it made a complete gift.

So I need you to vote on my sidebar poll. Would you be interested in buying gift baskets? If so, what other themes would you like to see?

How do you like my new Tea Party line in my Etsy shop? This is the first product, and I plan to make many more! Tea sets were the very first things I added to my Etsy shop when it opened up less than a year ago. I sold all of them within the next few months, then for some reason never added more. I recently felt like I had come into a rut of what to add to my Etsy shop. I love variety, and felt that my shop needed something unique and unlike other things I sold.
So I decided to create more tea sets! There can be so much variety and colors in tea sets, and I felt that this was what I needed for my shop.

When did you first become interested in your craft?

Caroline: I first started making jewelry after my daughter, Samantha, was diagnoses with epilepsy. She had been injured during her first seizure, which happened at school. When she finally returned to school, I would jump every time the phone rang for fear it was bad news. I needed to take my mind off worrying and so I started to make jewelry. My husband encouraged me to start New Hope Beading. I tell the story of the shop's name in my shop profile HERE

What inspires you to craft?

Caroline: I often get inspired from the raw materials. When I get a strand of stones I need to "live with it" for a while until I see what it wants to become.

What is your favorite thing to make?

Caroline: I really enjoy making anything custom order. plus I make a lot of Mother's bracelets and Pea Pod necklaces. I always feel like I am part of someone's special surprise, especially when they are gifts.
I will be expanding my custom order lines VERY soon to include hand-stamped custom order fine silver (PMC). I am so excited about this I can hardly wait! I have been sketching for days.

Is there anything else you would like to tell us about yourself or your craft?

Several months ago I made these earrings. I loved how they turned out! The swirls remind me of zebra stripes.

I'd keep them for myself, but I don't have pierced ears!

MouseMarket which sells some of the most delicious looking miniatures I've seen!

Isn't the detail just amazing? I chose desserts, but MouseMarket also sells adorable main and side dishes. Even if you are not a dollhouse collector, MouseMakrket sells a great variety of jewelry, hair accessories, and more!

Etsy Tip

Use colored paper! There are so many lovely scrapbooking papers out there for a very reasonable price. They are not only great for card-making or scrapbooking, but if they aren't to "busy" you can use them as backgrounds for your Etsy items!
Simple, complimentary colors work great, and give your items some "pop", unlike a plain white background might give your items.
